In order to do his job “faster”, the computer engineer develops the system in complicity with the employee, following “their user stories”. This is done using agile methodologies such as SCRUM or XP, so well known.
As a result, different applications are put into operation for the functions of each department, which do not communicate with each other, or communicate by manual means. For example, printed reports travel from one department to another, producing a chaos!
This situation becomes more complex when new systems are developed from scratch to try to perform an “integration” of existing applications.
As a consequence of several iterations of the same work, the “automation” of chaos is observed. Therefore, the cost of carrying out the activities increases, instead of decreasing.
Why does all this happen? The answer is simple: business processes have not been taken into account.
